Bermuda Triangle $35

Bermuda Triangle, a Jim Steinmeyer effect, has the magician set up three lines of coins, with each line containing thirteen coins, to create the Bermuda Triangle. Spectators then add coins in with the original coins. The magician then recounts each line showing they each still contain only thirteen coins each, a true mystery This effect includes an Instructional DVD, velvet drawstring pouch, enough coins from around the world to create the Bermuda Triangle, and the story to make this simply performed effect come alive. The effect comes with printed instructions and an Instructional DVD, to help you perform this effect flawlessly. This effect has been published with permission from its creator, Jim Steinmeyer, and appears in “Impuzzibilities,” published by Hahne.

Sole Survivor $30

This effect has been taken from the book by Robert Neale and Eugene Burger entitled Magic and Meaning. Neale states in the book that the plot is from Albert Camus’ novel, The Plague. The method used is a force by Roy Baker referred to as PATEO (point at two, eliminate one). This effect includes an Instructional DVD, and seven specially printed Tarot style cards.

Loves Me . . . Loves Me Not $20

This is a nice little effect using Ed Marlo’s “Olram Subtlety”. The cards are custom printed on standard Bicycle cards with custom backs. It is a real charmer and will become a standard in your repertoire. This effect comes with both male and female versions.

Superman (Twenty Dollar Bill Switch) $25

After borrowing a twenty-dollar bill from a spectator, you take out a one-dollar bill of your own. Folding the two bills separately, you place them in the spectator’s hand. The spectator closes their hand into a fist, and imagines the fist to be a phone booth. You randomly remove one of the bills from their closed fist. It’s the twenty-dollar bill and the spectator pretends that it’s Superman. You now ask the spectator to fantasize his fist is the planet Earth and the twenty-dollar bill is Superman. As flies around the planet Earth, the two bills magically change places. This effect includes an Instructional DVD and a specially prepared one-dollar bill.

Here’s A Little Tip For You / You’re Covered $20

Magician takes a specially printed piece of paper from his wallet, and talks about its magical protective qualities. The magician then asks a spectator to let him borrow a twenty-dollar bill to demonstrate these qualities. He then folds the the paper and the twenty-dollar bill in a special way, and has the spectator push a pen through both. The magician continues to tear both the paper and the bill using the pen. When revealed, the twenty-dollar bill is unharmed, protected
by the specially printed piece of paper.

Numerology $25

Magician asks a person to think of a number from 1 to 63. Using six specially made cards, and a story about ancient Egyptian numerology, he announces the thought of number. This effect includes an Instructional DVD, along with a complete set of specially printed cards. (Also available in gigantic 8.5” X 11” size suitable for stage.)

Indian Casino Blackjack $25

This is a self-working card effect using a special deck of cards with 52 different backs collected from 52 different Indian casinos. Two cards are dealt face-up blackjack stile. The two cards are split from each other, the remaining cards are dealt face-down in front of each of the two cards. When the helper tells the dealer to stop, the two face-up cards are placed on top of their respective pile. At this point it is shown that the cards were placed next to the only cards in the deck that matches the two cards. This effect comes with an Instructional DVD, to help you perform this effect flawlessly.

Bingo $49

A clipboard with a Bingo card and a pen is passed to an audience member who is asked to put an X through five random numbers. The audience member is then asked to pass the clipboard on to four other audience members and has asked three of them to follow the same procedure of putting and X through five random numbers. The last audience member is ask to put an X through only four and then circle the one remaining number. He asks the audience to scream BINGO as he pretends to take the last Bingo ball out of the basket as he calls out the correct number. This effect comes complete with specially a prepared clipboard, pen, Bingo cards, printed instructions, and an Instructional DVD, to guide you in your performance.

Practical Magic To Please the Lay Audience

Mark My Word / Seventh Inning Stretch / Two Minute Warning $30

This is a great effect that can be performed either in a close-up or a parlor performance. An envelope is handed to a member of your audience with a prediction enclosed. A strip of paper is then shown having a column of words describing different items. The paper is turned around to show its blank back side. A pair of scissors is moved from top to bottom and when asked to stop, the paper is cut in half at that point allowing the bottom half to fall to the floor. When the top and bottom halves are compared, a word has been cut in half. When the prediction envelope is opened, it reveals a picture of the word that was cut in two.

If you prefer performing Sports Themed Magic, you might also enjoy “Seventh Inning Stretch” or “Two Minute Warning”. These two effects are basically the same, except they use baseball or football teams’ names in place of random words on the strips of paper. The patter matches the sports theme, but when the top and bottom halves of the strip are compared, a team name has been cut in half. When the prediction envelope is opened, it reveals the team’s logo which has also been cut in half just as the team name was. This effect works perfectly in any city with a major sports team franchise. The revelation can be the team in that particular city or even your assistant’s favorite team.

Flushing the Aces $35

This Four Ace routine is — if you’ll pardon my saying — a little effect using a miniature plunger along with four specially prepared aces and a deck of cards. cards can be used to accomplish this effect, but I found that using crimped cards can be a hit, or miss. Crimped cards do not Crimped work well with old decks, cards that have been shuffled too often or decks containing cards that are bent or do not lay flat. With these conditions, the deck has tendencies to separate at those spots ruining the beauty of this effect. By using the specially prepared aces, the separation works every time. No mistakes, no embarrassment of finding the wrong card. This effect includes an Instructional DVD, printed instruction, the tiny plunger and four specially prepared aces.

Magician tells his audience, “I’m going to cast a magical spell.” He then lays out six cards, each with a flag from six different nations around the world. He then has someone announce any number from one to six. Using that number to locate a card, turning that card over to reveal an X on its reverse side. He then turns over all the cards spelling out the name of the country’s flag that was randomly stopped at. The cards are reproduced in three sizes, 2.5” X 4”, for close-up, 3.25” X 5.25” for parlor, and 7.5” X 10.5” for stage. This effect includes specially printed instructions and six specially printed Flag cards.

The Magician tells a story about an old fortune-teller who shows him a card trick. He cannot conceive how someone without sight could perform a card trick. He demonstrates how he was baffled when the old woman produced from a completely blank deck, a freely thought-of card . . . the only card with a face.
